I was born on 13th May 1952. I hail from Kadammanitta, a village in the District of Pathanamthitta. My parents are late K.C. Thomas and Annamma. After high school education in Kadammanitta, I joined St. Aloysius Minor Seminary, Trivandrum to become a priest. On completing the Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Philosophy and Theology from St. Joseph Pontifical Seminary, Aluva, I was ordained priest on 27th December 1978 by Most Rev. Benedict Mar Gregorios. I completed secular degree of B.A., M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D from the University of Kerala. After being appointed lecturer in Mar Ivanios College, I later served as the Principal of St. John\u2019s College, Anchal and retired as the Principal of Mar Ivanios College, Trivandrum. From 1979 I served several parishes later I was appointed as the Vicar General of the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum as the in charge of the educational institutions in the Archdiocese. I was appointed as the Auxiliary Bishop of the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum on 26th January 2010. My Episcopal ordination was held on 13th March 2010. Later I was appointed as the Bishop of Pathanamthitta on 8th June 2019.<\/h4>\n

Since my entire cases was rendered on educational institutions, I had the privileged to concentrate and explore the needs of various communities I different regions of Kerala. My tenure as the Vicar General and Auxiliary Bishop of Trivandrum give me a wide opportunity to work for command had money and human resources development respective of religion, cast, cult and creed. My attempts for community development of Kerala and I was awarded C.Kesavan Award in 2012. Working in the marginalized poor people, I realized that proper education and guidance will enable our students to earn their living. <\/strong><\/h4>\n

Most Rev. Samuel Mar Irenios was born on 13 May 1952 at Kadammanitta in Pathanamthitta District of Kerala, India, in the present Eparchy of Pathanamthitta. His parents are late K. C. Thomas and Annamma.<\/h4>\n

He was ordained a priest on 22 December 1978 by Most Rev. Benedict Mar Gregorios, then Metropolitan Archbishop of Trivandrum.<\/h4>\n

He was ordained a Bishop on 13 March 2010 by His Beatitude Baselios Cardinal Cleemis, the Major Archbishop-Catholicos of Trivandrum. <\/h4>\n

He did his schooling in Government High School, Kadammanitta.<\/h4>\n

He joined St. Aloysius Minor Seminary, Trivandrum in 1967 and did pre-degree course in Mar lvanios College.<\/h4>\n

He has completed the Bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy and Theology from St. Joseph’s Pontifical Seminary, Aluva.<\/h4>\n

He secured BA degree in Malayalam Literature from the University College, Trivandrum.<\/h4>\n

He did MA in Malayalam Literature from the Kerala University Campus, Karyavattom.<\/h4>\n

He secured PhD in 1995 for his doctoral thesis on Malayalam Poetry.<\/h4>\n

He obtained a diploma in Ecumenism from Tantur Ecumenical Institute, Jerusalem.<\/h4>\n

He was the Chief Editor of Christhava Kahalam<\/em>, the official Journal of the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum.<\/h4>\n

He was the editor of Preshitha Keralam<\/em> Magazine.<\/h4>\n

He served in many secular academic bodies such as the Board of Studies of the University of Kerala, the Academic Council of the Shri Sankara Sanskrit University, Kalady and State Literacy Mission.<\/h4>\n

He served as the Principal of St. John’s College Anchal.<\/h4>\n

He served as the Bursar, professor and the Principal of Mar Ivanios College Trivandrum.<\/h4>\n

He served as the Synecllus of the Major Archieparchy of Trivandum (2007-2010).<\/h4>\n
